Design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems and machinery utilized for the company's carbon activation process. Research, design, evaluate, install, and maintain mechanical systems, parts, equipment, and processes to meet company requirements. Conduct research to determine the design, feasibility, operation, and performance of activated carbon processing equipment, component, and systems. Develop technical drawings of machines and machine parts using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD. Participate in the installation of systems and machinery and perform quality assurance tests to ensure that equipment is performing effectively. Perform trials to evaluate the efficiency of systems in performing carbon activation processes and develop methods to improve the rate of production. Recommend modifications to improve machine efficiency, quality, and performance and identify opportunities for cost-efficient material substitutions. Maintain newly installed automated activated carbon processing systems, including pulverizers, briquetting machines, carbonizers, and activation furnaces. Perform maintenance inspections and ensure that machines are well maintained. Develop and document maintenance procedures and strategies for machines by reading manuals. Investigate equipment failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions. Manage the tools and vehicle inventory required for production and perform maintenance as required. Stay abreast of the latest technological advances and industry trends and maintain familiarity with procedures and strategies applicable to carbon activation and production.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. The position requires skills and knowledge in machinery operations, thermal behavior analysis, engineering research practices, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
40 hours/week.
